Bela MD
More Than a Facial.
belaMD is a customizable, multi-step facial platform that brings together cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, serum infusion and other skin-focused technologies within a single treatment.
Rather than following the same facial protocol every time, we select the steps according to your skin that day—whether the focus is congestion, dehydration, dullness, texture or simply maintaining healthy-looking skin.
It’s where a traditional facial meets a more clinical approach to skin.
The aqua tip with suction in combination with targeted serums can be used to remove surface buildup, excess oil and debris.
Diamond-tip microdermabrasion provides controlled mechanical exfoliation that can be adjusted according to the skin. The aqua tip provides further gentle exfoliation throughout the treatment.
Selected solutions and serums can be incorporated according to the treatment protocol. Electroporation enhances the delivery of ingredients beyond the skin’s surface.
Not every belaMD treatment needs every step. We build the facial around what your skin needs at the time.
Overview
What Makes a “Medical Facial” Different?
We use the term medical facial to describe a skin treatment performed within our clinical setting using professional technologies and protocols selected according to an individualized skin assessment.
That doesn’t mean every facial needs to be aggressive.
In fact, belaMD fills an important space within our treatment menu: it allows us to work on cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, congestion and overall skin maintenance without creating the controlled injury associated with treatments such as microneedling or fractional laser resurfacing.
It can stand alone as a skin treatment or fit between more corrective procedures as part of a longer-term skin plan.
Sometimes good skin needs correction. Sometimes it needs maintenance.
How Bela MD Works
One Platform. Multiple Ways to Treat the Skin.
belaMD combines several technologies that can be selected and layered according to the treatment plan.
A diamond-tip handpiece provides controlled mechanical exfoliation of the outermost surface of the skin.
Different levels of exfoliation can be selected according to the skin, helping remove surface buildup and leave the skin feeling smoother and more refined.
The Aqua handpiece combines fluid delivery with rotation and vacuum suction to cleanse and exfoliate the skin while removing loosened surface debris.
Selected solutions may be incorporated during this stage according to the treatment protocol.
Selected professional serums and solutions allow us to further customize the treatment according to what we're seeing in your skin.
Formulations may be selected to support concerns such as dehydration, excess oil and congestion, dullness, uneven tone, sensitivity or overall skin maintenance.
Rather than using the same products for every facial, serum selection becomes another part of the treatment plan—chosen according to your skin's current condition and what we're trying to accomplish.
Electroporation uses controlled electrical pulses to temporarily alter the permeability of the skin, helping selected topical formulations penetrate more effectively.
belaMD's Y-lifting handpiece combines mechanical massage with electrical muscle stimulation to support lymphatic drainage and stimulate facial muscles for a temporarily more toned, refined appearance.
What It Can + Can't Do
belaMD is primarily a surface-focused treatment.
It can be useful for cleansing, hydration, mild congestion, superficial texture and general skin maintenance.
But a medical facial isn’t interchangeable with more corrective procedures.
If we’re treating structural acne scarring, significant pigmentation, vascular redness, deeper texture, skin laxity or other changes occurring below the surface, a different treatment may be more appropriate.
That could mean a chemical peel, BBL, Moxi, microneedling, Sofwave or another treatment depending on what we’re seeing.
Not every concern needs an aggressive treatment. But not every concern can be treated with a facial either.
Medical Facials + Your Skincare
The Appointment Is Only Part of the Plan.
A facial can cleanse, exfoliate and temporarily support hydration—but what you do consistently between appointments matters more than any single facial.
Your daily cleanser, moisturizer, active ingredients and sun protection should make sense for your skin.
If we’re noticing something during treatment that would be better addressed through your home routine, we’ll tell you.
And if you’re unsure what your skin actually needs, a dedicated skincare or holistic skin assessment may make more sense than repeatedly adding treatments.
Less trial and error. More intention.
Customization
Not Every Skin Needs Every Step.
One of the reasons we use belaMD is its flexibility.
Dry or dehydrated skin doesn’t necessarily need the same treatment as congested skin. Sensitive skin may require a different degree of exfoliation than skin with significant surface buildup.
Your treatment may emphasize:
Hydration
For skin that feels dry, tight or depleted.
Congestion
For excess oil, surface buildup and clogged pores.
Dullness
When accumulated surface cells are contributing to skin that looks less bright or refined.
Texture
For mild surface roughness and unevenness.
Maintenance
For skin that doesn’t necessarily need significant correction but benefits from professional cleansing, exfoliation and ongoing care.
The protocol follows the skin—not the other way around.
Results
Sometimes the Result Is Simply Better-Maintained Skin.
Following treatment, skin may feel smoother, cleaner and more hydrated, with improvement in the appearance of superficial dullness and texture.
Unlike treatments designed to create deeper tissue remodelling, belaMD doesn’t require us to wait months for a collagen response before assessing the treatment.
Its role is different.
For some clients, it’s an occasional treatment before an event. For others, it becomes part of regular skin maintenance or is used between more corrective procedures.
There isn’t one required treatment schedule.
How often you come in should reflect what your skin actually needs.
What To Expect
Your Treatment, From Assessment To Finish.
We’ll look at your skin and discuss what you’re noticing, your current skincare and what you’d like from the treatment.
From there, we select the appropriate belaMD steps and level of exfoliation.
Depending on your protocol, treatment may incorporate diamond microdermabrasion, Aqua cleansing and/or ultrasonic cleansing to remove surface buildup and prepare the skin.
Selected solutions, serums and technologies are incorporated according to your skin and treatment plan.
Electroporation or the Y handpiece may also be used where appropriate.
Treatment is completed with appropriate topical skincare and sun protection.
We’ll also let you know when your usual active skincare can be resumed if any temporary adjustments are appropriate.
belaMD generally requires little visible recovery.
Some clients may experience temporary pinkness, sensitivity or mild dryness depending on the degree of exfoliation and the individual skin response.

Bela MD
Frequently Asked Questions
There is some overlap in the goals—cleansing, exfoliation, hydration and skin maintenance—but belaMD uses professional technologies that allow us to customize how those steps are performed.
At MAGY, it's our primary platform for a more technology-based medical facial.
They belong to a similar broad category of technology-assisted facials, but they are different treatment platforms.
belaMD can incorporate multiple modalities including diamond microdermabrasion, Aqua cleansing, ultrasonic cleansing, electroporation and electrical muscle stimulation. The protocol can therefore be adjusted according to what we're trying to accomplish with the skin.
It may be useful when superficial congestion, excess oil and debris are part of the concern.
Aqua cleansing, vacuum suction and ultrasonic cleansing can be incorporated to help loosen and remove surface buildup.
Persistent or inflammatory acne is different and may require a dedicated acne treatment plan rather than repeated facials alone.
We wouldn't position belaMD as a treatment for acne itself.
It may complement an acne-management plan by addressing superficial congestion and supporting an appropriate skincare routine, but inflammatory or persistent acne should first be assessed and managed according to its underlying presentation.
We don't consider belaMD a treatment for rosacea, but it can assist in skin barrier support.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that requires an individualized approach. Certain gentle components of a facial may be appropriate for some clients with rosacea, while other steps or forms of exfoliation may not be.
We assess the skin before deciding whether—and how—to treat.
belaMD can improve superficial dullness and the appearance of the skin through exfoliation, but it isn't our primary treatment for established sun-related pigmentation.
When pigment is the concern, we first identify what type of pigmentation we're seeing. BBL, Moxi, skincare or another approach may be more appropriate.
Not structural acne scarring.
A facial may improve superficial texture, but atrophic acne scars involve structural changes within the skin and generally require treatments designed to create tissue remodelling, such as microneedling or selected resurfacing procedures.
We don't primarily use BELA MD as a collagen-remodelling treatment.
Some of its modalities interact with the skin in ways that may influence circulation or superficial skin processes, but when meaningful collagen remodelling is the treatment goal, we have technologies specifically designed for that purpose.
Usually very little.
Temporary pinkness, sensitivity or mild dryness can occur depending on the level of exfoliation and individual skin response, but BELA MD doesn't intentionally create the degree of tissue injury associated with procedures such as fractional laser resurfacing or microneedling.
There isn't one required schedule.
Frequency depends on your skin, home routine, other procedures and why you're having the treatment.
Some clients come periodically for maintenance, while others use belaMD occasionally or between more corrective treatments.
It may be an appropriate pre-event option because it generally involves little visible recovery, but timing should still take your individual skin sensitivity and planned treatment intensity into account.
If you have an important event, let us know when booking so we can plan appropriately.
Yes, when the combination makes sense.
It can form part of a broader skin plan alongside skincare, chemical peels, light or laser treatments, microneedling and other procedures. Timing and sequencing depend on the treatments involved and your skin.
