iS Clinical
Resurface. Reset. Rehydrate.
The iS Clinical Fire + Ice Facial is a professional resurfacing treatment that pairs intensive exfoliation with a cooling, hydrating masque.
The treatment begins with the warming “Fire” phase to exfoliate and resurface the skin, followed by the soothing “Ice” phase to cool and replenish it.
The result is a smoother, more polished appearance with little visible recovery—making it particularly useful when you want an active skin treatment without committing to significant downtime.
Controlled chemical exfoliation helps remove accumulated surface cells and refine the appearance of the skin.
Useful when dullness, roughness or superficial uneven texture is part of the concern.
The exfoliating phase can help address surface buildup and congestion.
The cooling second phase helps soothe and replenish the skin following resurfacing.
Overview
The Idea Is In The Name.
Fire + Ice combines two deliberately different phases within one treatment.
First comes Fire: an intensive resurfacing masque formulated with exfoliating acids, retinol and botanical ingredients. It creates a warming sensation while providing controlled surface exfoliation.
Then comes Ice: a cooling rejuvenating masque designed to soothe and hydrate the freshly exfoliated skin.
The contrast is what defines the treatment—active resurfacing followed by intentional recovery.
How Fire + Ice Works
Two Phases. Two Different Jobs.
Our IV and IM therapies include a selection of fluids, vitamins, minerals and other compounds that may be used individually or combined as part of an individualized treatment plan.
Your provider will determine the formulation, dose and route based on your assessment.
The Fire Phase
Treatment begins with iS Clinical’s Intensive Resurfacing Masque.
The formulation combines multiple exfoliating ingredients, including glycolic, lactic, citric and malic acids, alongside retinol and botanical extracts.
Together, these ingredients create an intensive surface-exfoliating treatment designed to loosen accumulated cells and refine the appearance of texture and tone.
A warming or tingling sensation during this phase is expected and is part of what gives the treatment its name.
The Ice Phase
Once the resurfacing masque is removed, the skin transitions to the cooling phase.
iS Clinical’s Rejuvenating Masque contains hydrating and soothing ingredients selected to replenish the skin following exfoliation.
This phase provides the contrast to the first: cooling and hydration after active resurfacing.
Finish + Protect
The treatment is completed with appropriately selected professional skincare and sun protection.
Because freshly exfoliated skin deserves a little more consideration afterward, we’ll also review what to use—and what to temporarily avoid—at home.
Where It Fits
More Than Maintenance. Less Than A Procedure.
Not every skin concern requires a laser, microneedling or an aggressive peel.
Fire + Ice sits somewhere between a maintenance facial and a more corrective resurfacing treatment.
It provides meaningful chemical exfoliation, but it isn’t intended to replace treatments designed for structural acne scars, established pigmentation, vascular concerns, deeper texture or skin laxity.
That’s an important distinction.
Sometimes the right amount of treatment is somewhere in the middle.
Fire + Ice VS a Chemical Peel
They're Related—But Not Interchangeable.
The Fire phase uses exfoliating acids, so Fire + Ice shares some principles with a chemical peel.
The difference is in how we use them.
Fire + Ice follows a specific two-phase iS Clinical protocol: intensive surface exfoliation followed immediately by a cooling, hydrating masque.
Our medical chemical peels allow us to select from different peel formulations and treatment intensities according to the concern and degree of correction we’re trying to create.
For someone looking for a polished, refreshed result with relatively little recovery, Fire + Ice may be enough.
When we need a more targeted or corrective chemical resurfacing treatment, a dedicated peel may make more sense.
What We Treat
When the Surface Needs a Reset.
Dullness
Accumulated surface cells can contribute to skin that looks less bright or refined. Exfoliation helps reveal a fresher-looking surface.
Uneven Texture
Fire + Ice can help smooth mild superficial roughness and leave the skin feeling more polished.
Congestion
The exfoliating phase may be useful when oil, buildup and congested pores are part of the concern.
Uneven Tone
Surface exfoliation can improve the overall appearance of mild unevenness in skin tone.
Fine Lines
By refining and hydrating the skin’s surface, the treatment may soften the appearance of selected fine lines.
Skin Maintenance
Fire + Ice can also be incorporated periodically when you’re looking for more active exfoliation without moving into a more intensive resurfacing procedure.
Pre-Event Treatment
When You Want Your Skin To Look Fresh—Without A Lot Of Recovery.
Fire + Ice is often referred to as a “Red Carpet Facial” because it combines active exfoliation with relatively little visible downtime.
That can make it useful before an event when the goal is for the skin to look smoother, fresher and more polished without scheduling a more intensive resurfacing procedure.
We still recommend planning ahead rather than trying a new treatment immediately before an important event. Individual skin responses vary, and your first Fire + Ice treatment should leave enough time to see how your skin responds.
Results
The Result Is In the Surface.
Following treatment, the skin typically feels smoother and more refined, with improvement in the appearance of superficial dullness and texture.
The cooling second phase also leaves the skin feeling hydrated and refreshed.
This isn’t a treatment we position around dramatic structural change or months of collagen remodelling.
Its role is simpler: effective surface resurfacing with relatively little recovery.
Some clients use Fire + Ice occasionally before an event, while others incorporate it periodically into their ongoing skin plan.
The MAGY Approach
Exfoliation Should Have a Purpose.
More exfoliation isn’t automatically better skin.
When the barrier is healthy and the concern is appropriate, controlled exfoliation can leave the skin smoother, clearer and more refined.
When the skin is already irritated, sensitized or compromised, adding another active treatment can be exactly the wrong approach.
That’s why we look at the skin before deciding how much resurfacing it actually needs.
Fire + Ice gives us an effective option when we want more than a maintenance facial without moving into a more intensive procedure.
The goal isn’t to exfoliate as much as possible. It’s to exfoliate appropriately.

Fire & Ice Facial
Frequently Asked Questions
It uses several ingredients commonly found in chemical resurfacing treatments, including alpha-hydroxy acids and retinol, so there is overlap.
However, Fire + Ice is a specific two-phase facial protocol rather than one of our customizable medical chemical peel treatments.
It can be.
The treatment is known for providing active resurfacing with relatively little visible recovery, which is why it is sometimes referred to as a “Red Carpet Facial.”
For an important event, however, we recommend having your first treatment well beforehand so we know how your individual skin responds.
Usually very little visible downtime, although individual responses vary.
Temporary redness, warmth, tightness, dryness or sensitivity may occur following treatment.
Not necessarily.
The manufacturer's professional protocol specifically notes that Fire + Ice isn't appropriate for extremely dry, dehydrated, sensitive or compromised skin. We assess barrier health and sensitivity before proceeding.
If your skin isn't suitable for active resurfacing, we'll recommend a gentler treatment instead.
We wouldn't position Fire + Ice as a treatment for acne itself.
Its exfoliating component may be useful for some blemish-prone or congested skin, but active inflammatory acne requires individualized assessment and may need a broader treatment plan.
Not structural acne scars.
It can improve superficial texture, but true atrophic acne scars involve structural changes within the skin. Microneedling, laser resurfacing or another targeted treatment may be more appropriate depending on the type of scar.
Surface exfoliation can improve the appearance of mild uneven tone, but we don't use Fire + Ice as our primary treatment for established pigmentation or sun damage.
Pigment should first be assessed. Depending on what we're seeing, skincare, BBL, Moxi or another approach may be more appropriate.
There isn't one schedule that everyone needs.
Frequency depends on your skin, barrier health, home skincare, other treatments and the reason we're incorporating Fire + Ice into your plan.
Timing matters.
Importantly, iS Clinical's professional protocol states that the Intensive Resurfacing Masque should be used as part of the Fire + Ice protocol rather than combined with other facial procedures during the same treatment.
Fire + Ice can still fit within a broader treatment plan, but we'll appropriately space it from other procedures.
Your provider will review which active skincare should be paused and when it can be restarted based on your routine and skin.
Because Fire + Ice already provides active exfoliation, we want to avoid unnecessarily layering irritation around the treatment.
We generally recommend keeping freshly treated skin simple and minimizing unnecessary products immediately afterward.
Your provider will give you specific post-treatment instructions based on how your skin responds.
