Collagen Biostimulators

A gradual approach to restoring facial structure.

Sculptra® is an injectable collagen biostimulator that works with your body’s natural collagen production to gradually address facial volume loss and changes in skin structure. Rather than creating immediate volume like traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra encourages progressive improvements over time, with results that develop subtly and can last up to two years.

Overview

A More Considered Approach to Volume Loss.

As we age, changes in collagen, fat distribution and underlying facial structure can affect the contours and proportions of the face.

Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate collagen formation within the treated tissue, making it an option for certain types of facial volume loss.

We assess your facial anatomy, tissue quality and degree of volume loss to determine where collagen stimulation may be beneficial and where another treatment may be more appropriate.

Sculptra Treatment Areas

Collagen Stimulation, Beyond the Face.

Sculptra is primarily used for facial rejuvenation, but collagen biostimulation is also being explored and used in selected off-label applications on the neck, décolletage and body. Treatment planning depends on the anatomy, tissue quality and goals of each individual.

Face

Addresses facial volume loss, hollowing and changes in contour through gradual collagen stimulation.

Body

Selected applications include the buttocks, abdomen, upper arms and knees, with the goal of improving the appearance of skin texture, laxity and contour.

Neck & Décolletage

May be used to address crepey skin, texture and changes in skin firmness through collagen stimulation.

Expected Treatment Results

Results that Develop Over Time.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra does not provide an immediate, lasting volumizing effect. Any fullness immediately following treatment is largely related to the injected fluid and typically subsides.

Over the following weeks and months, collagen stimulation gradually contributes to changes in facial volume and contour. Results become more apparent as your treatment series progresses and your tissues respond.

Clinical studies have demonstrated improvements lasting up to approximately two years, although individual results and treatment requirements vary.

The Science Behind Sculptra

Working with Your Body's Collagen Response.

Collagen is an essential structural protein that contributes to the skin’s firmness and support. As collagen production changes with age, the skin and underlying tissues can gradually lose some of their structural integrity.

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable material that stimulates a localized collagen response after injection. As the PLLA particles are gradually broken down, newly formed collagen contributes to improvements in the treated tissue.

This process differs from traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, which add volume directly through an injectable gel.

Sculptra stimulates a controlled tissue response that encourages collagen formation around the injected PLLA particles. This develops gradually, which is why treatment is typically planned as a series rather than a single appointment.

The AART of Individualized Treatment

Your Facial Aging Pattern Informs Your Plan.

No two faces age in exactly the same way. At MAGY, we draw on Galderma’s AART™ methodology—Assessment, Anatomy, Range and Treatment—to evaluate facial changes, understand your individual concerns and guide treatment planning.

This structured approach helps us consider the face as a whole rather than treating isolated areas. It also helps determine whether Sculptra, another injectable or a combination of treatments is most appropriate.

Skin Quality

Dullness and early visible changes in skin quality.

Volume Loss

Facial hollowing and reduced fullness.

Skin Laxity

Changes in firmness and facial tissue support.

Facial Heaviness

Changes in facial proportions, particularly fullness in the lower face.

What to Expect

Your Treatment, From Assessment To Result.

We begin with a comprehensive assessment of your facial anatomy, skin quality, aging pattern and treatment goals. Using a structured, evidence-informed approach, we identify your priorities and determine whether Sculptra is the right treatment for you.

Your Treatment

Sculptra is administered by a qualified medical practitioner using techniques selected for your anatomy and treatment plan. Your practitioner will explain the procedure, expected sensations and potential risks before proceeding.

Aftercare & Recovery

Temporary swelling, tenderness and bruising are possible. You’ll receive individualized aftercare instructions, including guidance on massage when indicated, and information about what to expect as the initial swelling resolves.

Follow-Up & Progression

Sculptra generally requires multiple sessions spaced over time. We reassess your response throughout the treatment series and adjust your plan as needed, prioritizing gradual, balanced results.
